What are private swim lessons?

 

One-on-one instructions, attention, personalized pace, immediate feedback, and faster progress.

Which is better? Private or group swim lessons?

 

Group lessons are structured to teach skills according to each age group and level. Feedback varies on goal for the group lesson. Private lessons are always better.

How long will it take for my 3 year old to swim?

 

The coach will do an assessment of your child during our first 10 minutes of the lesson. If you child is confident in the water the time to teach your child will swim will be significantly less than a child who is more fearful.

Do I have to watch the swim lesson?

 

Yes. Coach Carla shares detailed information about your child's progress. It is also beneficial so you can see all the progress your child is making in each lesson.

What happens if my child is crying?

 

If child is crying due to fear; Coach Carla will talk to parent about best approach for the child to continue lessons. Coach Carla wants every child and parent to enjoy lessons and enjoy the experience.

Are 1 hour lessons beneficial?

 

One hours lessons is very beneficial for intermediate and advanced level swimmers to make corrections on technique and build endurance/speed. One-hour lessons are also beneficial for water polo athletes to give plenty of time to implement skills and understanding of the game and skills. One-hour lessons for children under 8 is unnecessary unless they are at the club level swimmers.

What are the benefits of private and parent & me classes?

 

In parent & me classes; Coach Carla will teach you the appropriate skills to use when you take your baby to the pool. Some children do better in private lessons. Children who refuse every activity with the parent are recommended to do private lessons.

Which Swim or Water polo club do you recommend?

 

Research all clubs and coaches. Great clubs will have information available to give parents the best information before you pay club prices. Ensure clubs has experienced coaches. Be sure to be present at all club practices.

Swim - Nova Aquatics (9+)

Water Polo - Aliso Aquatics - 7-13 yrs old

Water Polo - SET - High School level

Should you put your child in Club swim or water polo?

This is a parent and athlete decision. We can discuss this in person.
